Live via the Internet
RF Safety Solutions’ RF Safety LiveCast™ training is the ideal solution for most organizations. It is a very effective training method that is also very cost-effective. The price is the same regardless of the number of students, other than for a modest charge for certificates. The most common arrangement is for students to gather in a room with a computer and LCD projector or very large monitor, just as they would for onsite training with the instructor in the training room. The difference is that Richard Strickland is in his office, and the presentation has been loaded onto a server prior to the class. A computer is used to access the Internet and log into the RF Safety Solutions training site. No software needs to be downloaded—all you need is Internet access. The audio component is delivered via conventional phone lines so that the audio quality is always good, unlike VOIP. For small to medium-sized groups, a quality speakerphone works very well and makes interactive, two-way communication between the students and the instructor very effective.
Richard uses several presentation tools such as pointers and highlighters to emphasize points in the PowerPoint presentations. Students are encouraged to ask questions at any time, and Richard stops to ask questions and encourage discussion several times during a typical course. And since the training has been configured for your group—clients are encouraged to supply site and/or equipment pictures— the content is meaningful. Certification
Exams and answer keys can be provided if desired. Students who successfully complete an appropriate exam, administered by a company representative, can be issued certificates that classify them as Competent Persons in accordance with FCC and OSHA Regulations and the American National Standards Association (ANSI) and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)—Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training—ANSI/ASSE Z490.1-2001.
Train Multiple Locations at the Same Time
A major advantage of RF Safety LiveCast™ is for situations where students are not all located in the same area. Classrooms can be set up in different cities and states, but students will still be able to interact with fellow students at every site. Even if you have a separate location within driving distance, it often makes sense to avoid having the students spend time traveling. Occasionally, a crew is stuck out-of-town on the date of training. When this happens, that crew can gather around a laptop at their hotel and participate in the class. When multiple training sites are involved, each site calls into a phone bridge. Calls are toll-free if the caller is located in the United States or Canada. The modest charge for the phone bridge is small compared to travel expenses. We can also use your company’s phone bridge if you have one.
Training Anywhere, Anytime
RF Safety LiveCast™ training is practical even is the students are located on another continent! Richard Strickland has conducted courses both on site and via the Internet for organizations in Canada, several European countries, and Taiwan. He is very familiar with ICNIRP and Safety Code 6 standards.
Many of our customers ask us to prepare everything in advance and then schedule the course on short notice to take advantage of downtime due to inclement weather. RF Safety LiveCast™ courses can be scheduled with as little as 24 hours notice, subject to instructor availability.
